| Gene Description | MED23, mediator complex subunit 23, is a subunit of mediator, a complex involved in regulating expression of most RNA polymerase II transcripts, and Med23 plays a role in regulating pigmentation and DNA damage repair (PMID: 28834744). MED23 acts in several complexes that integrate signaling and has been demonstrated necessary for Ras-active lung cancer (PMID: 22988093), but protective against esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (PMID: 23625751), and Med23 overexpression has been observed in hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 25684393) and non-small cell lung cancer (PMID: 25273169). | ||||||||||
