| Gene Description | KDM4A, lysine demethylase 4A, is a Jumonji domain histone demethylase of H3K9 and H3K36, regulating gene transcription through chromatin remodeling to effect cell growth and differentiation (PMID: 24349617) and plays a role in hematopoietic stem cell maintenance (PMID: 31434704). KDM4A overexpression is commonly observed in ovarian cancer and in squamous cell carcinoma (PMID: 24349617, PMID: 29113308) and has also been implicated in prostatic intraepithelial tumors (PMID: 27767379). | ||||||||||
