| Gene Description | HDAC9, histone deacetylase 9, is a member of the class IIa HDAC family (PMID: 30096875) that functions in deacetylation of histone proteins and plays a role in multiple cellular regulatory processes via repression of gene transcription, and can result in alternative isoforms with variable biological function (PMID: 11535832). Differential expression of HDAC9 has been observed in tumor types including glioblastoma, medulloblastoma, and acute lymphocytic leukemia (PMID: 21435179). | ||||||||||
